DAY 1: Fes

Upon arrival in Fes, you will be met and transferred to your Riad.  Relax and settle in. Overnight in Fes.

DAY 2: Fes

Explore Fes, the most ancient and holy of the Imperial cities.  Your cultural and historic tour will take you through the 2000 year old living medina, with its never-ending labyrinth of narrow lanes which are alive with markets and souks, craftsmen plying ancient trades, and donkeys and mules transporting their loads.  Visit the Attarine and BouAnania Medersas (Islamic universities), theNejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque.  Finish your tour with a visit to Fes Jdid, and the revered Merenid Tombs for a spectacular panoramic view of Fes.  Overnight in Fes.

DAY 3: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Khenifra(165kms)

Depart Fes for Khenifra, the heart of the Middle Atlas.  On your way take some time to exploreIfrane, the Switzerland of Morocco; Azrou, an important centre for Berber artisans; and the majestic cedar forests.  Khenifra is rich in Berber history, with vivid handmade rugs and carpets a speciality of this city.Overnight inKhenifra.

DAY 4: Khenifra – Imilchil (181kms)

Depart Khenifra for the small village of Imilchil, crossing the Middle Atlas into the High Atlas mountains.  This journey passes through many small Berber villages, giving you an unique look into the daily lives of the people in this region. Imilchil is perhaps most famous for its annual betrothal festival in September.  ExploreImilchil, visit the lake and nearby villages in the valley, or sit back and absorb the daily life of village locals.  Overnight in Imilchil.

DAY 5: Imilchil – Todra Gorge (126kms)

Depart Imilchil for the Todra Gorge.  Spend the day exploring the stunning canyons and surrounding Berber villages.  Maybe take a drive to Boumalne Dades, Kelaa M’Gouna orSkoura – the Valley of a ThousandKasbahs.  Overnight in Todra Gorge.

DAY 6: Todra Gorge – Erfoud (138kms)

Depart Todra Gorge for Erfoud.  Along the way stop and explore Tinjdad to visit the water museum and springs and learn how the water is carried from deep in mountains to desert oasis.  Overnight in Erfoud.

DAY 7: Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga (60kms)

After breakfast explore the small desert town of Erfoud andRissani.  Head to Merzouga, the Erg Chebbi region of the Sahara desert, and take a camel to begin your Moroccan desert adventure!  Watch the sunset over the majestic Sahara dunes, and spend the night in an oasis in a Berber tent.  Overnight in desert oasis

*If a camel trek is not really your thing, you can still experience the magic of the dunes by staying in a hotel right at their edge.

DAY 8: Merzouga – Errachidia – Midelt(268kms)

Wake up in the early morning to watch the sunrise over the dunes.  After returning by camel to Merzouga, set off for Midelt, passing through Errachidia, and the spectacular ZizValley.  Overnight in Midelt.

DAY 9: Midelt – Fes (198kms)

After breakfast return to Fes via the Middle Atlas. Your tour ends in Fes
